Throughout a long day, Pat and Algy wearily struggle through the dreadful undergrowth on the mountainside. Again and again it seems they will never reach the bottom. Sometimes it's Algy who cheers Pat along, and sometimes it is Pat who is the leader. Then suddenly, the forest thins out and they see clearly what is ahead of them - a bamboo swamp which stretches as far as the eye can see from north to south...
