At the Tentercombe dock Chief Cody and Tim Collins are waiting for the Eustace T, the powerful tugboat that has been refitted to serve as a much-needed auxiliary fireboat. Mr Tentercombe, proprietor of the Tentercombe Boat Company has explained that Captain Jukles skipper of the Eustace T is a good sailor but rough and ready waterfront character.
